3 races in the second half of September 2025 brought me 3 more podium finishes: Aspach 10 km 🥇 , Dagersheim 10 km 🥈 , Schurwald (Esslingen) 10 km 🥉

I am grateful for all that is possible. With this I have competed in 20 races since the beginning of 2025, and in all 20 races I finished among the top 3 runners in my category (M50, M55, M4, depending on how the organisers set the rules). That is an average of one race/podium per every 2 weeks.

The Urban Trail du Cannet (UTC) high above the bay of Cannes at the beautiful Côte d’Azur, set in and around the charming „green balcony“ of Le Cannet. The course features all, fast sections, steep sections including stairs upwards and down, tarmac sections, gravel and trail, as well as the narrow streets in the old town maze. Again the crowd were amazing, the event was given high official attention and the ceremony was very enjoyable. Compliments to the organisers and attendees.

And I was very happy to defend my title successfully 🥇🏆. After 2024 in 2025, with an even larger field of participants, a win in the M4M 🇫🇷 (this time combined with the M5M) = M55. Thank you, Le Cannet 🏝️⛰️

La tour de la Gaude („Lou tour de la Gauda“) is always a special race for me. It has a personal meaning, it’s a family event and kindly enough even the retired mayor always makes sure that I sign up.

I ran it with the determination to enjoy it truly, and with family, friends and so many people along the challenging course in the hills of La Gaude that is not a difficult task.

It brought me a 2nd 🥈 in the French M4H = M55 as a tangible result 🏁 which I am proud of among the strong French trailers here, and it gave me tremendous joy. I completed this course in my fastest time so far, with no special explanation why – except the joy. I am grateful.

City Run Leonberg – June 2025 – successfully defended my title as M50 winner 🥇🏁 over the 10 km distance in hot conditions, above 30 C. It was an enjoyable race, the old town with its cobble stones and the market square on the hill as well as the Eltingen section with its incredible audience, forming a long narrow corridor and cheering us runners up, creating goose bump moments.

Another 3 races – 10 km Walzbachtal Ascension Day Run, 10 km Southern Palatinate Run (Südpfalzlauf), 10 km Stuttgart Run – and M55 podiums in each competition – one of each color: 🥇🥈🥉

Each run has its own story, each run is enjoyable in its own way. This year I am slightly slower than in 2024, but the run fun is the same, if not more than before, because I do not take it for granted. Though I do put in the training, I am grateful for every single performance.

In May 2025 I decided to race 2 x 10 km events in different locations at the same weekend, one Saturday the other Sunday. My goal was to make it to the podium in my age category in both races. It worked. I even won my age group in both runs – M55 🥇🥇

This was in the beautiful towns of Mühlacker (left) and Waiblingen (right).

The next weekend following that I gained M55 🥉 in Stuttgart and a few days later M55 🥇 in Walzbachtal’s Ascension Day Run. But those stories are to be told anther time.

After a Supervisory Board meeting near Berlin, I seized the opportunity to join the open State Championships in Berlin for the track long distance and competed in the 10 000 m event. Even after a long trip and focused business meetings, my shape was good enough to finish in 3rd position and gain the bronze medal 🥉 in my category M55. I am very grateful for the result.

4 races – 10 km each – Jan./March – 4 x 🥈 M55 – and the overall M55 🥈 at the finals.
Almost the same positons as in the previous year. Consistent?
